Terms of use

Effective 9 October 2026 onwards, these terms govern use of FixASB. Please read them alongside our Privacy policy. By using FixASB, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these terms and the Privacy policy. If you do not agree, you should not use the service.

About us

FixASB is operated by SafetyScore Limited ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in England and Wales (company number 16671672). Our registered address is 128 City Road, London, EC1V 2NX, United Kingdom. FixASB helps communities capture structured, privacy-conscious evidence about recurring issues in shared public spaces and allows others to add calm corroboration. It supplements - but does not replace - formal reporting to the police, local authorities, or other agencies.

Not for emergencies

This platform is not an emergency service. This service is not for emergencies. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 999.

Eligibility

FixASB is intended for use by people aged 18 or over. If you are under 18, you may only use the service with the consent and involvement of a parent or guardian.

Acceptable use

You must use FixASB only for lawful purposes and in a way that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict or inhibit anyone else's use and enjoyment of the service. Do not submit content that targets a person for harassment, contains hate speech, is knowingly false, infringes someone else's rights, or relates to behaviour inside a private home or domestic situation. Reports should describe recurring anti-social behaviour in shared public spaces such as parks, streets, and transport stops.

Do not publish content on public issue pages that names or identifies private individuals. You may provide identifying details (for example names, descriptions, clothing, ages, or vehicle registration numbers) only through the private fields intended for authorised organisations. Those details are encrypted, are not published, and are shown only to authorised organisations and staff who moderate the service.

Your submissions

You are responsible for the accuracy of reports, support statements, Get Involved listings, and other written information you submit. By submitting a report or support statement, you confirm that you have a genuine belief in its truth. You grant SafetyScore Limited a licence to store, process, display and share that written content as needed to operate the service, including via secure links to relevant organisations. Where you have consented, we may also pass your contact details to relevant authorities. Identifying details you provide in private fields are shared with authorised organisations through the secure authority portal, not on the public issue page. Photographs and other uploads are governed by the User Content section below. Video file upload is not currently available. Get Involved events and groups proposed by the public are reviewed before publication.

Community activities and events

FixASB enables individuals, community groups, organisations and others to share information about activities intended to improve local places, including clean-ups, litter picks, community action days and other events or activities.

FixASB is a platform, not the event organiser.

Unless we expressly say otherwise, FixASB does not organise, operate, supervise or control activities or events listed, promoted or documented through our website.

The person, group or organisation responsible for an activity is the event organiser. FixASB provides a platform that helps people publicise, coordinate and document activities undertaken by others.

The appearance of an activity on FixASB does not mean that we have organised, approved, inspected, risk-assessed or endorsed it or its organiser. We do not guarantee that information supplied by an organiser is complete, accurate or up to date.

If you take part in an activity

You are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable for you and whether you can participate safely.

You should:

  • read and follow any safety information, instructions or guidance provided by the event organiser;
  • follow reasonable directions given by the organiser or those supervising the activity;
  • use any appropriate protective clothing or equipment recommended or provided for the activity;
  • take reasonable care for your own safety and for the safety of other people who may be affected by what you do;
  • comply with applicable laws, restrictions and instructions from landowners, local authorities, the emergency services and other relevant bodies; and
  • stop participating and raise the matter with the organiser if you believe an activity or situation is unsafe.

You should not undertake work which you are not competent or equipped to carry out. In particular, you should not handle hazardous substances, discarded needles or other potentially dangerous items, use specialist equipment, work at height, enter restricted or private property, work in or immediately adjacent to live traffic, or otherwise expose yourself or others to unnecessary risk unless appropriate arrangements have been made by the organiser.

If you have particular health, accessibility or other requirements which may affect your safe participation, you should consider these before attending and contact the event organiser where appropriate.

If you organise or list an activity

If you create, list or promote an activity through FixASB, you are responsible for the organisation and conduct of that activity.

This includes, where applicable, responsibility for:

  • considering and managing reasonably foreseeable risks;
  • providing appropriate safety information and instructions to participants;
  • obtaining any permissions, licences or consents required for the activity or location;
  • ensuring that any equipment supplied is appropriate and safe to use;
  • making appropriate arrangements for supervision, safeguarding, insurance and first aid where these are reasonably required;
  • complying with applicable laws and relevant guidance; and
  • ensuring that information you publish about the activity is accurate and not misleading.

Using FixASB to list or document an activity does not transfer any of these responsibilities to FixASB.

You must not describe or imply that FixASB is organising, sponsoring, supervising or endorsing an activity unless we have expressly agreed to this in writing.

Changes, cancellation and disputes

Activities listed through FixASB may be changed, postponed or cancelled by their organisers. Questions about the conduct of an activity, participation arrangements, safety instructions, cancellation or anything that happens during an activity should normally be directed to the relevant organiser.

We may remove or restrict an activity listing where we reasonably believe that it breaches these Terms, creates a risk to users or the public, is misleading, or is otherwise inappropriate for FixASB.

Our responsibility

FixASB provides the online service through which information about third-party activities may be published and shared. We are not responsible for organising or supervising those activities and are not responsible for the acts or omissions of their organisers or participants.

User Content (Photos and Other Uploads)

Ownership

You retain ownership of any photographs and other content you upload to FixASB ("User Content"). Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of your User Content to SafetyScore Limited.

Licence to us

By uploading User Content, you grant SafetyScore Limited a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to:

  • host, store and back up your User Content;
  • copy, reproduce and process it;
  • generate thumbnails and alternative formats;
  • remove metadata (including EXIF data);
  • resize, compress, crop, redact or blur parts of images where appropriate;
  • display and publish it on FixASB and through our official websites, social media channels, newsletters, presentations and other communications where appropriate for the purposes of operating, promoting and explaining FixASB;
  • share it with police forces, local authorities, housing providers and other organisations involved in preventing, investigating or responding to the issue you have reported;
  • retain copies where reasonably necessary for evidential, legal, audit, security or regulatory purposes.

This licence continues for as long as reasonably necessary to operate FixASB and to meet our legal obligations.

Your responsibilities

You confirm that:

  • you own the User Content or have the necessary rights or permission to upload it;
  • uploading it does not knowingly infringe another person's copyright, privacy or other legal rights;
  • the information you provide is accurate to the best of your knowledge;
  • you understand that your uploads may be reviewed by moderators before publication or sharing.

Our moderation rights

We may review, moderate, refuse, redact, edit, annotate, anonymise, publish or remove User Content at our discretion where we reasonably believe this is necessary to:

  • protect privacy;
  • comply with the law;
  • reduce the risk of defamation or other legal claims;
  • protect individuals from harm;
  • maintain the quality and integrity of FixASB.

We are not obliged to publish any User Content.

Evidential handling

We may retain the original uploaded file, together with technical information such as upload time, filename, file size, checksums or hashes and other audit information, to help demonstrate the integrity and provenance of evidence where appropriate.

We may also create processed copies (for example, copies with metadata removed, resized images or blurred versions) for publication or operational use.

Removal

You may ask us to remove publicly displayed User Content. We may retain copies where reasonably necessary for legal, evidential, regulatory, fraud prevention or safeguarding purposes, or where we have another lawful basis for doing so.

Public awareness

We may use User Content, including edited or redacted versions, in our websites, official social media channels, newsletters, reports and other communications where we reasonably consider this helps explain, illustrate or raise awareness of anti-social behaviour or the work of FixASB. Where appropriate, we may remove or obscure identifying information to protect privacy and reduce legal risk.

Our intellectual property

As between you and us, SafetyScore Limited owns all present and future intellectual property rights in FixASB and the website, including the software, design, text, branding, trade marks, logos, databases and other materials we create or licence (excluding User Content and other material you submit). You may view and use the service for its intended personal or organisational purposes, including sharing links to public issue pages. You must not copy, reproduce, modify, redistribute, commercially exploit, or frame our content or branding without our prior written permission, except where the law allows. Rules on automated access, crawlers and AI are set out below.

Automated access, crawlers and AI

You may use FixASB through ordinary interactive browsing. Except where we give prior written permission, or where the law requires otherwise, you must not:

  • use bots, crawlers, scrapers or other automated means to access, collect, copy or extract content from the service in bulk or systematically;
  • use content from FixASB (including User Content, issue descriptions and other materials) to train, fine-tune or improve artificial intelligence or machine learning models or datasets;
  • circumvent technical measures intended to protect the service or control access.

This does not prevent bona fide public search engines from indexing publicly available pages in the ordinary way, or prevent the use of assistive technologies needed for accessibility. We publish a short /llms.txt file of product facts to help assistants describe FixASB. That file is not permission to train models on User Content, issue descriptions, or other materials from the service. We may block or rate-limit automated access that we reasonably believe breaches this section or harms the service.

Privacy and data

Personal contact details are encrypted and are not shown publicly. Public issue pages show an approximate location label and a privacy ring and/or orb to denote the general area. We do not sell your data to third parties. For full details of how we collect, use, and protect personal data under UK data protection law, please read our Privacy policy. These terms should be read alongside that Privacy policy.

Account and access security

If you are given access credentials or verification codes (including for an authority portal account or email or SMS verification), you must keep them confidential, not share them with others, and not leave a logged-in device unattended. Do not reuse passwords you use for other important accounts. If you believe your credentials or access have been compromised, change them where possible and notify us promptly at [email protected].

Moderation, suspension and removal

We may review, restrict, edit, unpublish or remove any content that breaches these terms or our moderation policies. Additional rights relating to photographs and other uploads are set out in the User Content section above. Anyone can report inappropriate content via the option on an issue page.

If we believe you have breached these terms, we may take action we consider appropriate, including issuing a warning, temporarily or permanently suspending or withdrawing your right to use the service or related access privileges, taking legal action to recover losses arising from the breach, and disclosing information to law enforcement or other authorities where we reasonably consider it necessary. We are not liable for actions taken in good faith in response to suspected breaches.

Liability and disclaimer

FixASB is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that authorities will act on any submission, that issues will be resolved, that content will always be accurate, complete or current, or that the service will be uninterrupted, secure or error-free. We may withdraw or change features of the service without notice.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude all warranties, conditions and other terms that may otherwise be implied, and we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or economic loss arising from these terms or from your use of (or inability to use) the service.

You use the service and any downloaded material at your own risk. While we take reasonable precautions to protect the platform, we do not accept liability for damage to software or devices, or loss of data, caused by viruses or other malicious software obtained through use of the service, except where this cannot lawfully be excluded.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time to comply with law or to reflect changes to the service. The version published on this page applies when you use the service. It is your responsibility to review these terms periodically. Continued use after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

General

If any provision of these terms is found to be illegal, invalid or unenforceable by a court of competent jurisdiction, the remaining provisions continue in full force and effect.

Only you and SafetyScore Limited may enforce these terms. No third party has any right to enforce them under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 or otherwise.

These terms set out the entire agreement between you and us in relation to your use of FixASB and supersede any prior arrangements relating to that use, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Any failure by us to exercise a right under these terms does not constitute a waiver of that right unless we confirm the waiver in writing.

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with them.
