FixASB

How it works

From a first report to lasting resolution: how FixASB helps communities capture evidence, build corroboration, and make sure the right organisations can act.

FixASB is designed for persistent anti-social behaviour in parks, streets, transport stops, and other shared spaces. It does not replace police or council reporting, and it is not for emergencies. Do not name private individuals on public issue pages; identifying details for authorised organisations can be added privately. It supplements existing routes by making recurring issues visible, shareable, and easier for the right organisations to act on.

The FixASB process

From a first report to lasting resolution - the steps that turn lived experience into structured civic evidence.

  1. Report what is happening

Create a calm, structured record of a persistent issue in a shared public space. Pin the location, describe the pattern and impact, and add photos where helpful. Do not name individuals on the public page. Identifying details for authorised organisations can be added privately later.

  2. Add your voice

Others who have seen or experienced the same problem can add their support. Calm corroboration turns a single account into a clearer pattern that is harder to dismiss as a one-off.

  3. Weekly check-ins

People who reported or supported an issue can receive weekly follow-ups asking whether things are ongoing, improving, or resolved. That rhythm keeps the picture current and shows whether action is making a difference.

  4. Track status and resolution

Issue pages show how community check-ins evolve over time, alongside updates that help everyone see progress toward resolution - not just a snapshot from day one.

  5. Notify authorities

Relevant organisations can be made aware of documented issues so they can review structured evidence and, where people have consented, make contact. The aim is clearer visibility for the parties who can respond.

  6. Recommend who else can help

Communities can suggest other organisations that should be part of the solution - police, councils, housing providers, private security, and more - so problem-solving can draw on the right partners, not just the first contact.

  7. Secure authority portal

Authorised officials get secure access to review issues in keeping with our Authority Charter: use information in the public interest, protect privacy, engage constructively, and respect the independence of the platform.

  8. Build presence in local hotspots

In places where problems concentrate, FixASB can help build a local presence that encourages reporting and evidence capture - so patterns become visible where they matter most.

Better data, insights, and decisions

Clearer information on scale, impact, and persistence - so effort can go where it matters most.

The ultimate benefit is clearer information for the organisations responsible for response: better data on where problems concentrate, stronger insights into the impact of persistent issues, and better-informed decisions about how to resource action.

When communities can document what is happening over time - and when others can calmly corroborate it - authorities are better placed to understand scale, persistence, and harm, and to focus effort where it will make the most difference.

Enabling more effective resolution

Proportionate responses, problem-solving, and an opt-in to mediation where conflict can be reduced.

With a clearer sense of the scale, impact, and nature of a problem, authorities can better judge the proportionality and necessity of enforcement or other problem-solving approaches - matching the response to what is actually happening on the ground.

We also explicitly offer users the option to opt in to mediation or other resolution work aimed at reducing conflict. That includes situations where reported issues may in fact be due to a misunderstanding or differing perspectives, and where restorative approaches can help defuse tension rather than escalate it.

Sending a clear signal

Anti-social behaviour is unacceptable - and it should be easy to report, corroborate, and make the right parties aware.

Beyond any single case, FixASB sends a broader signal: that anti-social behaviour is unacceptable, that it is easy to report, easy to corroborate, and easy to ensure the relevant parties are made aware.

That can include police, councils, housing providers, private security, and other partners who may need to be part of the solution. Structured civic evidence helps those organisations see the same picture - and act with greater confidence.

The future and the journey

We are only at the beginning - building through partnership, interoperability, and public accountability.

We are only at the beginning. Even so, we are excited about what we can achieve together - through partnership, interoperability, and public accountability that keeps communities and authorities working from a shared, trustworthy picture of what is happening.

Today FixASB is centred on anti-social behaviour in the public realm. In time, we hope to cover the fuller range of persistent problems people experience in shared spaces - building on the same foundations of calm evidence, corroboration, and constructive engagement with the organisations who can help.
